I Would Donate My Pet To The Denmark Zoo

Last Thursday, the Aalborg Zoo account posted that they would be welcoming pets that were nearing their expiration date. I, for one, would donate my pet to help the zoo mimic the food chain.
While this sounds extremely violent and ill-mannered, the Denmark zoo is simply trying to mimic food chains in the wilderness. An example would be feeding whole animals, such as rabbits and chickens, to the European Lynx would resemble hunting in the wild.
A food chain contains a series of predators and prey. It starts with a producer, like a plant that makes its own food using sunlight. This energy is then passed on to one organism as it consumes another.
While animals at zoos are certainly well fed, it’s not guaranteed that their food is either filling or nutritious. Feeding a lion or a rare/close to extinction animal is harder and more expensive than one thinks. With the help of many donating their pets, zoos could cut off a fraction of their monthly spending. Furthermore, animals would be much more fulfilled when they eat the food that they want to eat.
In addition to helping the staff, once an animal gets the food they want, they will seem much happier and livelier. All living organisms need nutritious, fulfilling food to keep their vigor, which essentially draws in more visitors to the zoo.
However, some may see this as a bad idea. Although giving your pet to strangers for them to kill and feed to other animals, it is still a good cause. Some may say that this is the worst way to get rid of your pet.
To sum up, donating your pet could be a great option for you to make. Adding on to an ego boost, you could be helping your local zoo find good food for animals.
