The story behind my name is simply to make me sound nice. When I was born, my parents wanted to name me Hannah, but they changed the name to my current name, Sophia, because it would be more fitting with my last name, which also starts with an S. Another reason why my name is Sophia is that my parents wanted to make my initials easy to remember for other people as well as nice to look at when written out.
If I were to rename myself, my name would be Hannah. I would rename myself Hannah, particularly because the name just reminds me of hazelnut chocolate, and I like chocolate. Hazel would sound more like hazelnut, but it reminds me of a squirrel because of the pronunciation and association with squirrels liking tree nuts. I do not like squirrels because ever since I saw a picture online of a squirrel with a shaved tail, I can not unsee the weird proportions of a squirrel’s tail to its body.
The other reason why I would name myself Hannah is that my parents also liked the name, so It would be easy for my parents to readjust to that name.
Another reason I would name myself Hannah is that I just think Hannah sounds nice.
In the end, I would not want to change my name because I like my name now. It is easy to pronounce and very easy to come up with nicknames. My family and friends have come up with all kinds of nicknames, and I cannot wait to hear what they will come up with next.
