Tadej Pogacar’s Return to Championship

Tadej Pogacar, in his yellow jersey, unbelievably just breezed past his rival, Jonas Vingegaard of Denmark while competing in the Tour de France in Nice, France. Although his rival Jonas Vingegaard had kept him from reaching the championship for the past two years, this time, Pogacar made no mistakes and beat him– winning the championship for the third time.

Tadej Pogacar, now a three-time Tour de France Champion winner, got his third championship on July. “After two hard years in the Tour de France, always some mistakes,” Pogacar said. “This year — everything to perfection. I am super happy to win here.”

Pogacar’s accomplishments are incredibly surprising, because after losing twice during the last two Tour de France it seemed that a downturn was starting and that he won’t get another Championship. Instead, he was able to finish 1:03 before Vingegaard and ended with 6:17 as his overall lead. His achievement has made it seem like he is unbeatable.

His success reaffirms his status as one of the world’s greatest cyclists. This is a significant comeback from the last two years of struggle in the previous two Tours due to a few small mistakes. Pogacar’s win is also a record because he not only won the Tour de France but also the Giro d’Italia in the same season. This feat had only been achieved once before in 1998 by Marco Pantani, but now Pogacar is the second person to have achieved that.

Considering the age of Pogacar, who is 25, and the age of his rival Vingegaard at 27 there is no doubt that more competition between them is on the way with motivation driving them both.
