Eileen Feng Gu was born on September 3rd, 2003. She is also known by her Chinese name, Gu Ailing. She is a freestyle skier and was born in California, USA. She practiced skiing on the slopes of Lake Tahoe since the age of three. Eileen was raised by a single mom and learned to speak fluent Chinese.

Eileen’s Athletic Skills

Eileen’s decision to compete for China is controversial, attracting international attention. She has competed in halfpipe, slopestyle, and big air events since 2019. She became the youngest Olympic champion in freestyle skiing after winning gold medals in big air and halfpipe, and a silver medal in slopestyle, at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. She is the first freestyle skier to win three medals at a single Winter Olympics. Gu won nine gold medals, two silver, and two bronze from competitions like the Winter Games.

Astounding Time Management

Usually, young athletes are homeschooled because they do not have enough time to study and spend time at school. Eileen Gu is not a homeschooler, but also excels academically and athletically in a short period. She manages her time for academics and sports really well. An example is that she scored 1580 out of 1600 on the SAT. This placed her in the 99th percentile in the United States and got her an early admittance to Stanford University. She is also a great pianist.
