2026 Fifa Club World Cup
In June, 2025, the Fifa Club World Cup is starting. In the USA, 32 teams will be competing for the win, including Manchester City, the previous champions who beat Brazil in the 2023 tournament in Saudi Arabia.
Those 32 teams, including Real Madrid and Chelsea, are going to the USA for the 4-week football competition. Previously, it consisted of 7 teams, but the new one will have many more teams from around the world and will occur once every 4 years.
It begins on Sunday, June 15, and the final will be on July 13. The opening match consists of famous legend Lionel Messi who is a well-known Argentine professional footballer, and Egyptian sports club Al Ahly. The finals will play out in July, at the Metlife Stadium in New Jersey, one month later.
The 32 teams will split into 8 groups of 4. Every team in the same group will play each other exactly once. Then, the top 2 teams in each group will proceed into the round of 16. After that, there will be the quarter finals, then semi-finals, and lastly finals.
There are 8 groups, 4 in each group across Miami, Seattle, Los Angeles, and more. A well-known team, Manchester City, is in group G with Wydad, Al Ain, and Juventus. They will first compete against Wydad on Wednesday, June 18, in Philadelphia. Next, they will go against Al Ain on June 22, in Atlanta. Their final match will be against Juventus on June 26. Chelsea is in Group D and will play Los Angeles FC, then Flamengo in Philadelphia on June 20. The final match for Chelsea is against Esperance Sportive de Tunis on June 25 in Philadelphia.
Famous Portuguese Legend Cristiano Ronaldo might be playing in the Club World Cup, who is a Portuguese professional footballer, though his club, Al-Nassi, didn’t make the tournament.
There also might be some sibling rivalry to watch at the stadium. There is just a chance that Jude Bellingham will play his brother Jobe. The German team has also qualified, with Real Madrid, Jude’s team.
A lot of players in the tournament are concerned about the scheduling of it, because it is too crumpled and impacts player well-being. The Women’s Euro 2025 tournament will partially overlap with the Club World Cup. There are only 5 weeks between the start and finals.
