Honorable Mention: Most Students Fail New Challenging Curriculum: AP Sleep

In the prestigious school of Ovuracheaver High, a challenging new course designed by CoolLegs Board is introduced to the students: AP Sleep.

In Ovuracheaver, it’s not uncommon for students to consistently earn 4s and 5s on multiple college-level courses. However, AP Sleep has brought a new challenge to the talented students at this high school. The course brings an advanced form of questions that students have never seen before anywhere else.

Students are often confused by the unusual questions presented on the AP Sleep exam. “I really don’t understand the concept of this subject,” Yin Somnya, a junior at Ovuracheaver, explains. “The method of studying is so bizarre. I got deducted points for pulling an all-nighter to study for the exam, and there were no explicit formulas.” Despite achieving a 5 on both the AP Physics C and AP Chemistry exams, Yin Somnya failed AP Sleep with a shocking 1 point, the lowest possible on the AP exam.

Other students are puzzled over the self-studying that the course requires. A recent study at Ovuracheaver found that 80 percent of students feel like teachers are not adequately explaining the topic. “My teacher said that he would give us an example solution, then he slept for the entire class! How was I expected to even pass?” complained Toomuk Wurk, a student well-known throughout the school for his research in the grading rubrics of AP exams.

With most students struggling with the content, teachers have met to discuss possible methods to increase the overall score and passing rate for the class. After a long meeting on Wednesday, the teachers decided that the only way for the grades to improve was to give more homework and take-home quizzes.

The grade distribution of the new exam for Ovuraceaver among the students is shockingly low. Only 0.4 percent of test takers managed to get a 5, the top score, and not a single student got every single question on the test correct. Showing just how difficult mastering the exam content is top scorer Uhlarmout Uvpaowur, when asked how he passed the test, explained, “There was a test? Oh no, I was sleeping during that time, I forgot I signed up for the exam.”. With such a challenging course increasing the expectations of society upon its youth, it’s no wonder that students are working harder than ever before for college.
