Beyond Meat, Impossible, and other companies make the future of food: plant-based meat that tastes exactly like real meat. Some people are very excited for plant-based meat, but others aren’t.
For example, when Cracker Barrel posted about their new menu choice on Facebook, Impossible’s™ plant-based sausage, people started commenting mixed thoughts about it. Some thought it was wrong to put something on the menu that no one wants. One person said, “All the more reason to stop eating at Cracker Barrel”. Others were happy with a different choice. One commenter wrote, “Plant based is the future! 💚Everyone stop eating carcass and eat plants.” Some people were angry with the new option because Cracker Barrel is like a museum about American history, but the new menu option is more modern. O didn’t like it because their beliefs are against the idea of plant based meat, making Cracker Barrel’s post turn into a war of political beliefs.
Some people may not like the idea of plant meat, but plant-based meat can help the Earth. When farming cows or any other animal that is used for meat, they eat and then produce methane, which is a greenhouse gas. Since there are a lot of animals that are farmed for meat, there is a lot of methane produced. So, farmed animals are responsible for more greenhouse gas than cars, planes, trucks, and trains combined. If there were fewer farmed animals and more farmed plants, it would help stop climate change.
