Mega Millions is one of the most popular lotteries across the country including Puerto Rico. The jackpot price sky-rocked because no one won the lottery for more than 3 months.
The winning numbers were: 13-36-45-57-67, Mega Ball: 14. According to npr.org, the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 303 million.
The winning ticket was purchased on Friday night, at a gas station in Des Plaines, Michigan.
Illinois does not require the winners to provide their names if the prize is over $250,000, so we may never know who won the prize.
If the lottery winner decides to go with the annuity option, it will take 29 years for them to receive the total prize money.
