On the morning of April 1st, four women and two men are planting trees in a field to save the world. They are Kalungla descendants of enslaved people who escaped captivity in Brazil’s grassland.. The first three trees they planted were in the middle of the field;they were all a few inches tall,had only two leaves, around the same size. Some leaves and roots were the size of half a pencil and some were the size of a marble. Each tree took less than three minutes to plant into the ground. This week alone they have planted more than thirty thousand trees.

Tree planting organizations have increased by three hundred percent since 1990, and trees have increased by five thousand percent.
