To qualify for the Champions League, you must be in top four of Italy’s League, Spain’s League, France’s League, England’s League, and Germany’s League. For small leagues, a team must be in the top 2. In all, 32 clubs qualify and then the teams are divided into 8 groups of 4 based on a draw. Then each team in the group plays each other twice. You get 1 point for a tie, 3 points for a win and 0 for a loss. 1st place and 2nd place go to the Knockout Stages. There will be 16 teams in the Knockout Stages. 8 groups of two are paired to play against each other twice in the home stadium and their opponents stadium and whoever has the combined score in their favor goes to the quarter final. If you tie in combined score you got to extra time which is 30 minutes. Whoever wins that also goes to the quarter final. If you still don’t have a winner you go to a penalty shootout. The process continues until you have a winner from 16 to 8 to 4 to 2 to 1.

In Real Madrid’s first game they beat last year’s Italian league winner 1-0 with Rodrigo Goes in the 89th minute. In the next game they were stunned by FC Sheriff 2-1 with a big upset. The 3rd game they beat Shakhtar Donetsk from Ukraine 5-0. In the next round they beat Shakthtar Donetsk 2-1 again. Then they played FC Sheriff again and this time they won 3-0. Against Inter Milan (Italian League Winners), they won 2-0. Cumulatively, Real Madrid won their group with 15 points.
PSG
In Round 16 they had to play PSG. PSG has a lot of superstars including 3 attacking strikers Messi, Neymar and Mbappe. In the 1st leg they lost 1-0 due to Mbappe in the 95th minute. In the 2nd Leg Mbappe scored again to make it 2-0 to PSG in the combing score everybody had given up except for Karim Benzema in the Santiago Bernabeu (Real Madrid’s Stadium) who scored 3 goals in 17 minutes to win the combined for Real Madrid.
Chelsea
In the First Leg Benzema headed 2 stunning goals and the Kai Havertz got one back with a header. However, due to an error made by Chelsea’s Goalkeeper Benzema the score became 3-1. In the second half of the match, Chelsea went up 3-0 at the Bernabeu Stadium and that’s when Carlo Ancelotti made a super substitution. Rodrigo was put in which got the score to 3-1. Then they had to go to extra time when Benzema headed a goal to make it 5-4 on combined score for Real Madrid.
Manchester City F.C
In the first leg, Manchester City went up 2-0 then Benzema scored to make it 2-1 but then Fill Foden made it 3-1 to the Citizens FC. Vinícius scored a beautiful nutmeg goal (Through the legs) to make it 3-2. However, Bernardo Silva scored a rocket to make it 4-2. Then Benzema scored a penalty, 4-3. In the second leg, Riyad Mayrez scored for the Citizen to make it 5-3 in combined score. However,. Rodrigo came off the bench to score two goals to get it level and then Benzema scored a penalty to win it in extra time.
Final
In the final Real Madrid faced Liverpool in Paris. Thibaut Courtois saved Real Madrid 8 times from getting scored on. 1 shot from Mane, 1 shot from Thiago and 6 shots from Salah. Then, Vinícius scored to win the Final.
