As NASA has announced, the moon rocket will be lunch into space between August 23 and September 6. The space agency also has said, “NASA will set a specific target launch date after replacing hardware associated with the leak.”
The spaceship was commonly recognized as Artemis, formerly known as Exploration Mission 1 (EM-1), and it would orbit around the moon while no astronaut aboard. NASA’s Artemis 1 moon mission will be the “agency’s first big step” toward returning astronauts to the lunar surface.
On June 20th, NASA completed a test of the agency’s Space Launch System moon rocket known as a “wet dress rehearsal,” which marked an important preflight milestone for NASA’s Artemis 1 lunar mission.
The test was stopped early, due to mechanical issues and leaks. “The wet dress rehearsal” wasn’t perfect, but NASA still thinks the test was very successful. They also told the reporter that “It was a very successful day, and we accomplished a majority of the objectives that we had not completed in the prior.”
On Thursday, NASA claimed that there is sufficient data to take action for the enormous SLS rocket’s first-ever launch attempt, which the organization wants to use to send people back to the moon.
