A recent shooting in a Denmark shopping mall left three dead and four wounded. The suspect of the attack was reported to have mental issues. The last major attack that occurred in Denmark was seven years ago in 2015, so this was quite the shocker for the country. During the attack, Denmark citizens were celebrating the first stages of the Tour de France, which also happened to be the first time they hosted it. Isabelle, a witness of the scene, heard 10 shots ring out. This caused her and 10 other people to hide in the bathrooms, hoping to stay safe. “It was a terrible experience,” said Isabelle.

Many people were running for their lives. A 53-year-old Swede reported that his daughters were supposed to meet Harry Styles until they heard the shots. Harry Styles wrote on SnapChat that the “team and I pray for everyone involved in the Copenhagen shopping mall shooting.” Sanna Marin, the Finnish Prime Minister, took this as an act of violence and so did many others. At the time, people outside of the mall were also in distress as their friends or community members could have died. My heart goes out to everyone who died.
