When I found the end of a rainbow, I felt a cool spring breeze mixed with the smell of flowers that come in all the colors of the rainbow. The streams were filled with fish of all shapes and sizes. Lollipops grew all over the trees, banana splits floated on the brooks, green gum coated the rocks as moss, and I discovered the fluffy flowers were made of cotton candy. Best of all, the whole place was mine. There wasn’t a single human being in sight.
Then, it started to rain. But instead on coming down in raindrops, it came in drifts of warm mist. I ran in the pools created by the mist and played in the forming fog, breaking it up into little chunks. I jumped in every puddle the rain made. Every time I landed, beautiful music floated up from the puddles to the sky. These sounds then got trapped in bubbles of happiness that drifted softly down to my hands. I started chasing the bubbles everywhere. That was when I noticed I was getting soaked. When I tried to run home, the rainbow just carried me away.
Suddenly, the loud creak of a door filled my ears, then, right away a beam of light blinded me and I awoke to the hot air that smelled of sweat, cramped with my older siblings A piece of bread that would be my breakfast laid on the night table beside my bed., that was barely enough for me to take two bites. I knew that my pleasant encounter was just a dream, but I am confident that one day, I will find the end of the rainbow.
