Yabba was a very normal duck. He lived with his parents, Yebba and Yumma, who were a business-duck and a stay-at-home mom. Yabba has a pet bunny named Donkey, and a toy rubber duck whose name is Duck and happens to be Yabba’s best friend.
Duck was made in the factories in China. He was bought at the Dollar Tree by Yabba and his parents and was brought home. The first time Duck talked, Yabba might have wet his pants in surprise. Yabba had a very nice family indeed.
Yabba went toMelbourne Elementary School, where ducks learn how to fly. His classes were the most peaceful compared to the crazy classes next door.
Yabba had many school plays, tests and homework as summer drew near.
It was finally the last day of school when Yabba came flying out of the building. Yabba and Duck were going on a vacation to Duck’s Aquatic Center, where there were many fun games and rides with which to play. It was a family tradition to go to the water park. The two friends played until sunset and each had a good amount of Bluefin tuna.
The next day, Yabba and Duck were sitting under a tree, reading a heavy novel together when they fell asleep. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind blew and blew the leaves off the maple tree they were sitting under. Yabba and Duck were almost completely buried under the leaves. Yabba was having a very strange dream… Dreaming that Duck was floating down a river and onto an island. Yabba woke up and couldn’t find Duck anywhere.
Yabba stood up, fluffed out his wings and turned to the river. He decided to go looking for Duck. Leaping into the cool stream next to his house, Yabba followed the river with willow trees lining the sides. The fish were startled and swam by, past the small pebbles. As the ocean came nearer, anemone could be seen with little clownfish swimming amongst them, and coral reefs bursting with life. Yabba kept swimming until he saw the islands. When he got to the first one, he asked some kind dolphins if they had seen Duck. The kind dolphins pointed him down a path. Yabba found many interesting sea creatures like fish of every color of the rainbow—except for blue, an octopus with seven arms, and a baby otter diving in the waves. Finally, Yabba got to the island he had seen in his dreams.
Purple wisteria hung from lush and thick green vines, and there was every plant possible that could fit on the island. Trudging through the plants, Yabba came across a clearing.
“Duck!” Yabba raced to greet his friend.
After exchanging stories and happily jumping around, Duck announced that he had just finished a boat. They hopped aboard and sailed home, and had plenty of Bluefin tuna for dinner.
