Electric vehicles have been regarded as replacements for gas vehicles because of the fact that they don't have tailpipe emissions. Tailpipe emissions releases harmful gases such as carbon monoxide causing air pollution. The first concept of EVs were first introduced in the 1830s when Robert Anderson built an electric carriage powered by batteries. During the 1870s-1880s France and the UK started further development of EVs and by the early 1900s EVs where a hit because of their simplicity and quietness.
