A previous US Open and Evian Championship winner, Gee Chun, finished one shot ahead of the field, finishing on five under, despite a three-over-par 75, at only 27-years-old.

Chun is also the world number 33, leading by five shorts after an opening round of 64. She followed with a 69 and closed with two 75s. Although she started with three shots ahead of everyone else, she dropped four on the front nine during the final round, which included two birdies and five bogeys.

From North Ireland, a woman named Stephanie Meadow was tied for 10th place on the level par, Minjee Lee, from Australia, and Lexi Thompson, from America, where tied in their second on four under at Congressional. Thompson seemed to be in the lead during the closing stages, but bogeyed two of her last three holes to sign for a 73 instead.

After winning $1.35 million, Chun said, “It just means a lot because I didn’t have any wins for almost three-and-a-half years. My loyal fans in Korea, they never gave up on me no matter how I did.”

Lastly, Georgia Hall, from England, finished on two over. Her Compatriot Mel Reid was only two shots behind her.
