Women’s Euro 2025
The UEFA Women’s European Championship, also known as Women’s Euro, is a major international football tournament that is held every four years. This year, it will be held in Switzerland from July 2 to July 27.
Matches will take place in 8 different Swiss cities. Both Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city, and Bern, the capital, will host matches. The opening match will be at Stockhorn Arena, Thun, with the final held at St Jakob-Park in Basel. Other cities hosting matches are Geneva, St. Gallen, Lucerne, and Sion.
Some of the best women’s teams will be participating in the Women’s Euro, including Spain, Germany, and England. Other teams include Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Wales. There are 16 teams in total.
Teams will play three other teams within their groups. They will earn three points for a win, one if the game is tied, and zero for a loss. The top two teams will advance into the quarter-finals, then the semi-finals, and finally the finals.
In the opening match of Women’s Euro 2025, Iceland will play against Finland on July 2. It will be the first time the two countries compete with each other in a major tournament. The final match for the championship will be played on July 27.
There will be many famous players participating in the Women’s Euro. Spanish football star Aitana Bonmatí is going to play in the tournament. She won the Ballon d’Or last year, which is an annual football award for the best male and female players in the world. Alessia Russo is a goal-scorer for Arsenal and is going to play in the tournament. Lauren James is returning from injury and will participate in the Women’s Euro.
With 4 groups, 8 stadiums, 16 teams, and 31 matches all over Switzerland, the Women’s Euro will be an exciting tournament to watch.
