Wimbledon Winners

The Wimbledon tennis tournament in the UK officially ended on July 13, just as the country experienced its 3rd heat wave of the year. So, who were the winners? In this article, we will investigate the final game of the Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles and learn who the champions are.
On July 13, in the Men’s Singles, two excellent players, Carlos Alcaraz from Spain, and Jannik Sinner from Italy, had a tense tennis match on the centre court. Carlos Alcaraz won the 2024 Wimbledon Tournament, but Jannik Sinner defeated No. 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic at the 2024 Australian Open, according to Wikipedia. Also, they have both won seven Grand Slam titles between them. So it was a tough match between the two, as they both are very good players. This is because the tournaments they have played are very big. However, Jannik Sinner won the match: 6-4, 4-6, 4-6, 4-6.
After playing, Jannik Sinner said, “It is so difficult to play you, but we have a great relationship off the court. Keep going, keep pushing, you’re going to hold this trophy many times – you already have twice!” Even though they are rivals in tennis, they have a strong link off the court.
On July 12, in the Women’s Singles, Iga Swiatek from Poland and Amanda Anisimova from the USA were both competing for the first time. They both have won the French Open Tournament, so it was hard to say who would win. Surprisingly, Iga Swiatek beat Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in just 57 minutes. It was her 100th major win in tennis.
“I’ll come out stronger,” Amanda Anisimova reflected after losing the tournament. “I told myself, I’ll definitely come out stronger after this. I mean, that’s not an easy thing to go through, losing 0-0 in a Grand Slam final.” Even though she had a huge loss at the Wimbledon 2025, she still pushes on and keeps trying.
Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek were both champions of the Wimbledon tennis tournament, but who do you think will win next year’s match? Do you think any of the winners this year will win again? Or will somebody new arise to become next year’s champion?
