Two years ago, Mr. Beast and Mark Rober teamed up to plant 20 million trees. They joined up with The Arbor Day Foundation to make
#Teamtrees
. This organization was made solely to plant trees to fight against climate change. Their efforts have helped, but climate change is still getting progressively worse, so now people have wondered if planting a trillion trees would help.

There have been many groups popping up like the Eden, who hire people to plant trees. Each tree takes less than a minute to plant. The leader reports that they have planted 30,000 trees in 3 weeks.

However, even with the tree planting efforts, deforestation is still a big threat. With better technology, it would take more manpower to out-plant our machines.

The problem with trying to plant one trillion trees is that people know the importance of planting trees, but they still aren’t actively helping. Or perhaps they know it is important, but not how important.

In fact, deforestation produces 20% of all carbon emissions, while cars only produce 14%. Thus, if we reduce deforestation, we can reduce carbon emissions. Even better, if we plant one trillion trees, we can remove carbon from the air.

Slogans like, “The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago; the second-best time is today,” suggests that we need to act now.

We are also developing machines to help us plant trees. There are drones, land planters that can plant trees faster and more effectively than human planters. We’ve seen that a group of planters can plant 30 thousand trees in 3 weeks, but a robot could do that in 6 hours in a best case scenario. Overall, robots can plant more trees, and the trees have more of a chance to grow into a mature tree.

Clearly, all of our steps taken to spread awareness about trees are successful. According to Maxime Renaudin, who started Tree Nation, in 2006, no one knew the importance of planting trees, but now everyone knows.
