On June 26 the BET awards ceremony was held, and Lil Nas X was not a part of it. The nominations did not include Lil Nas X, and now he is furious.
Lil Nas X is a pop star. Fans love him for his music. Due to not being nominated for the BET (Black Entertainment Television) awards, Lil Nas X has started teasing and provoking BET. Lil Nas X was so unhappy that he decided to release a new song called “Late to Da Party” which is most likely referring to the award ceremony. The song included the words “F**k BET.”
What is surprising is that Lil Nas X has already been nominated for—and has won—two BET awards. He performed twice at last year’s awards ceremony, at which he won two BET Hip-Hop Awards. What is even more difficult to understand is that his song “Old Town Road” has a huge amount of support from celebrities and fans. One could say that him not being nominated this year is absolute bullsh*t. On the other hand, maybe he should let other artists take their chance to shine.
Lil Nas X knows that he has more than enough fans. The pop star stated on Twitter: “I just feel like black gay ppl have to fight to be seen in this world and even when we make it to the top mfs try to pretend we are invisible.” It seems that the last time Lil Nas X was on stage he shared a passionate kiss with one of his male background performers. The action most likely made the audience either look away in disapproval or not care. The actions most likely displeased the BET judges which is why lil Nas X was not chosen this time.
