US President Trump’s Big Dinner with King Charles at Windsor Castle
at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. This party was the key part of his rare second trip to the UK as President, now serving as the 47th US President. The event in St. George’s Hall was a beautiful show of royal tradition, with thousands of fancy dishes and utensils to eat used. The goal of this trip was to encourage the strong political and business relationship between the US and the UK.
During their speeches, the King spoke clearly about their partnership. King Charles said they had been friends in “good times” and “bad times,” explaining the “bad times” as the World Wars and the recent danger of war in Europe, a direct mention of the war in Ukraine. He stated that the two countries must work together. The President, Trump, responded by thanking the royal family, saying the visit was one of the best moments of his life. Even with the fancy dinner, large groups of people protested outside. These were quite obvious protests, which included activists who shone pictures of President Trump and Jeffrey Epstein onto the castle walls and large groups of people parading with anti-Trump signs.

In the end, this grand dinner was a way for the UK to show off its power to the world. The UK used its famous ceremonies and traditions, which are known as “soft power,” to impress the President. By putting on a final show, including the largest military display ever for a state visit, the UK hoped to win its favor with the US. This effort was meant to secure the UK’s standing and make sure the US stayed on Britain’s side for important world issues, such as supporting Ukraine.
