Former President Donald Trump has been accused of trying to overturn his 2020 election loss to President Joe Biden. The federal Jury agreed to indict him with four criminal charges on August 1, 2023.

Trump is dealing with four serious charges of conspiracy and trying to trick the US with the official proceedings of the 2020 election.

Trump has been accusing officials of rigging and tampering with the election and tampering. He says that he is the rightful winner. He has also been charged with forcing and pressuring the Vice President at the time, to change the election.

“So, for more than two months following election day on November 3, 2020, the defendant (Mr. Trump) spread lies that there had been … fraud in the election (and) that he had actually won. These claims were false, and the defendant knew that they were false,” says the indictment.

Two months after Trump’s loss, on January 6, angry mobs of Trump supporters stormed into the Capitol building in Washington D.C. They broke in, trying to stop Joe Biden’s certified win, shortly after Trump urged them in a speech to march to the Capitol building. “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard,” Trump said.

Mike Pence also said that Trump made a series of phone calls that were related to Trumps trying to trick the election votes.

These charges have been filed against Trump in his upcoming 2024 presidential campaign.
