This year, the Oklahoma City Thunder pro basketball team is having another tough season in 2022, after finishing second to last in the Western Conference title last season. However, they will be more entertaining to watch due to the prospect of the good players such as Chet Holmgren, Josh Giddey, and Shai Gilgeous Alexander, along with others.

The reason they will be fun to watch is not only because of the good plays they make, but also being a teammate like Josh Giddey. Josh Giddey isn’t only a good player; he’s a good teammate, he’s creative, aggressive, and really good at moving down the court to the hoop, along with scoring accurately. His average point’s scored per game is 12.5.

“I spent a lot of time this summer in the weight room so I’ve been getting stronger and then that will allow me to take more contact going into the paint,” Giddey said. “I’m making an emphasis of getting to the rim and whether it’s me finishing or dishing out… I think last year I shied away from a lot of contact. I got bumped off my line a fair bit, but I think now I’m starting to get stronger to be more physical.”

Chet Holmgren has traits of being naturally aggressive and he doesn’t look as strong as he is. His average is about 14.1 points, 9.9 rebounds and 3.7 blocks every game.

Just because they have a few good players that’s not the only way they are fun to watch, it also because the coaches let them play the way they want to. Usually that is the best way to get them to play at their best. “I think with a guy like Chet Holmgren, it’s easy to get siloed into one specific facet of the game, good or bad for him, because he’s so unique,” Kam Woods coach of the Thunder for the summer league said. “He impacts the game in a lot of ways. So I thought his rim protection was really good. I thought he found offense within what we’re doing.”

Thunder basketball’s name is from Oklahoma’s history of being frequently hit with thunderstorms, due to the fact that it’s located in Tornado Alley. The team in total has only won one NBA Championship, along with 3 Western Conference Finals the most recent on in 2012 when they had Kevin Durant.

Although the Thunder aren’t having a super smooth year they will improve with these new players and hopefully secure a better future.
