On July 10, Liverpool FC landed in Thailand, Bangkok. They will play Manchester United on Tuesday before Manchester United will travel to Australia for more pre-season matches.

Liverpool, a popular soccer team, has won many games and amassed a large number of supporters around the world. Many of these supporters tend to stay in their country and watch Liverpool play their games. When Liverpool came to Thailand though, many couldn’t resist the opportunity to meet their hero.

“Thank you for the really warm welcome. It is only my second time in Thailand, the first was an hour on the way to Sydney. Hopefully I get time to spend in the city this time.” Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, said.

Some devoted fans waited up to six hours for Liverpool’s arrival. By the time Liverpool arrived, the crowd was so large, that some of the fans weren’t able to get even a glimpse of their heroes. Many stood in the central reservation to wave the team goodbye. Many bodies of supporters continued to follow them even after they left.

About half an hour before, Klopp and his team honored the warm welcome from their Thai hosts with a welcome ceremony. Afterward, the team held a traditional press conference with seats for Klopp, skipper Jordan Henderson, and vice-captain James Milner. There were so many people present that the officials could not clear space for people to ask questions in an orderly fashion. During the press conference, Milner talked about the “energy” the fans carried while Klopp talked about the relationship between Liverpool and Manchester United and described it as not friendly.

“I have never been to a press conference like this,” Klopp said as he was presented with a ball. All of the representatives were shocked by the energy of their welcome.
