Both French women’s finalists lost in the third round, their towering streaks ending quickly and in a fizzle.

In addition, Cornet was the one who beat Serena Williams in the third round of Wimbledon 2014. “I mean, what she’s done this year is out of this world and I can’t believe I’m the one that actually broke the streak,” Cornet commented on Swiatek’s accomplishments after the tennis match.
