A game that is small, lightweight, easy, fun, and safe, that’s Connect 4. One of the games that I believe should be in the 2025 National Toy Hall of Fame. Here’s why:
First, this toy is one of the most fun games I have found. Even though some people may say it is boring, I think it is still very fun. You not only have to make a plan of how to play the game, but you also need to try to guess what your opponent’s plan is and what they would do next. This makes it very exciting and challenging to try to win the game.
Secondly, Connect 4’s simple rules allow you to make it a game that everybody enjoys. From little kids to grandparents. You only need to drop discs and make a strategic plan to beat the opponent. This makes it easy to master in a few minutes, making it super fun for all ages. I’ve even seen my little 8-year-old sister beat my dad in Connect 4, proving that the game doesn’t matter how old you are. My grandma also loves to play the game now since it is very easy to start and doesn’t take years and years to master like chess or other board games.
Lastly, it’s easy to carry around. Unlike some other games, like a scooter, which are massive and a headache to carry around. Connect 4 only has a board and some little discs, making it easy to just put in your bag and carry around to find someone to play the game.
In Conclusion, Connect 4 is a simple game that is easy to carry around, fun to play, and has simple rules. This makes it a great contender for the 2025 National Toy Hall of Fame.
