After a riot storming the Capital, where the House of Representatives and the Senate are seated on January 6th, 2020. After that, a committee was launched to investigate the riot. To us it seemed that they were mostly trying to see who led the attack, until the committee found that law enforcement did little to predict the riot. January 6th was a riot in D.C when angry Americans stormed the capital, refusing to say that Biden won the 2020 primary election for president. Many people think former President Trump should’ve done more to prevent this and now they have more people to blame besides Trump. Many think that Trump was the culprit of this riot and because the FBI is under him, they couldn’t prevent it.
The reason why the Capitol was overrun was because there weren’t enough Capitol Police officers on duty. It was leaked by a detective that was working with both the FBI and January 6th committee and while dropping off information he gave the committee what they needed to find why the FBI didn’t really show up at the capitol riot. The FBI were defensive on why they didn’t prepare, so the January 6th committee started to search for an answer. And they had to do this fast because there is now a huge chance that republicans will have control over the House and Senate and if that happens, they are going to stop the committee. They used all the information they got from other agencies to see if law enforcement actually took the warning seriously. But they found that it was that these warnings never got to them, and they never knew until it was too late. The FBI said in a statement that they would fix the communications to be faster and more reliable and that they would try to be more prepared next time.
There is a probability of Trump coming into power again and the January 6th committee only has so much time left to find what they want. They could find what Trump and the FBI were up to justice and history depends on the committee. They are certainly aware of that.
