The winner of the Westminster Dog Show was a crowd shocker. It was a big, proud bloodhound. The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is a nationwide sporting event for dogs and handlers from around the country that can compete. The event starts on June 18th and ends on the 22nd, it’s held every year and it’s the biggest dog show event in the entire nation.
The winner of this dog show was Trumpet, a 4-year-old bloodhound from Illinois. Trumpet doesn’t have many special looks, just like any other Bloodhound, a huge brown dog with a wrinkly face. What makes this Bloodhound so special is his long ears which are top tier length ears. His great-grandfather, Tigger, held the Guinness Book of World Records for “dog with the longest ears.” Even though he certainly didn’t get the most cheers which were reserved for Sparky, a blinding white Samoyed, he was also up against a silky Maltese and a big old German Shepherd. He still, nevertheless, won.
