After the tennis matches at the All England Club are over, the six practice courts will be converted to croquet courts for the season.

According to The Washington Post, the All England Club used to be all about croquet. They eventually added tennis, and the croquet part of the club started losing popularity. In June and July, the croquet courts will be converted to tennis courts.

The Washington Post claims that not many members of the All England Club play croquet at all, and that some croquet players there are former tennis players. For example, Jonathan Smith used to play tennis at the All England Club, but found that he had a passion for croquet.

Ross Matheson, a manager of the All England Club, says that every September the club members ratify and fund the croquet plan. Matheson claims that converting the tennis courts is not easy since they have to have horticulturists and other people to prepare the grounds and make sure everything is in check. The Washington Post says that Matheson, like Smith, used to play tennis. Now, he is dedicated to croquet.
