After two years of pandemic period, tennis gets into post-covid stage. Covid protection rules are no longer enforced for tennis players to play in major tournaments.

During the pandemic, many tennis tournaments got cancelled. Tennis’s big organizers canceled or postponed everything in the spring and early summer of 2020. There were also strict Covid-19 policies with related to covid testing, vaccination and isolation.

Now similar to outside world, covid protection rules are more relaxed. Tennis events also resumed. However, regulations vary countries by countries, and often very confusing.

“So many rules,” Rafael Nadal, who ranked world No. 3 in singles said, “For some people some rules are fine; for the others rules are not fine. If there are some rules, we need to follow the rules. If not, the world is a mess.”

Some players also run into trouble attending the tennis event.

Novak Djokovic, a famous tennis player caught a 2nd case of COVID-19, Australian authorities winded up deporting him because they thought people would follow him, not to get vaccinated. Because of this, Djokovic lost the opportunity to place in the Australian Open.
