After “Minions: The Rise of Gru” was released on July 1st, a large group of teenage boys organized viewing events at movie theaters in their 8th grade graduation garb.
They videotaped themselves and placed the video online with the phrase-
#gentleminions
. The video gained e 65.4 million views from the hashtag on TikTok alone.
The boys in the video explains that they did not expect the clip to go viral.
Inspired by this, more and more teenagers started to watch the movie in suits.
“Doing these types of things, you actually get a lot of stares,” said Devan Rajen, an 18-year-old student, pictured in the video who posted the video from his own TikTok account.
“I didn’t like the movie,” admitted Law, who was in the viral

video. ” I thought it was mediocre at best. But I liked the atmosphere. “The boys in this video say that the clip is more of a product of serendipity than planning or objective.”
