Swimming in the Seine
to swim in the River Seine in Paris. This is because of a clean-up effort after the 2024 Olympic Games.
Previously, swimming in the Seine was banned due to the polluted water. , including daily water tests, lifeguards, and flags to warn swimmers about the pollution level.
Three swimming zones have been opened to the public, one near the Eiffel Tower, one near the Notre Dame Cathedral, and another one in eastern Paris. The swimming area includes changing rooms, showers, and beach furniture. Until the end of August, the sites are free to anyone older than 10 or 14, depending on which location it is.
The project was a major success. would tourism boost, but cooling off in the river during summer would be very relaxing.
