Elon Musk’s Tesla has been booming due to the increased price of gasoline and its “environment-saving” abilities, but really, is it doing any good? The process of making electric cars releases a lot of CO2s (Carbon Dioxide) into the air. Also, the battery is made of lithium. Lithium is a very rare metal, meaning they can’t restock batteries very easily. Lithium is drilled from mountains, which has the same negative effect as fossil fuel.

Electric cars are also extremely overpriced. The average electric car costs around $60,000! An average gas car costs around $38,000, it is predicted that the cost of electric cars is only going to rise, not fall. Some people can’t afford it! If nobody’s going to buy it, how does it save CO2? Charging an EV at home usually takes several hours or all day to recharge. If you find one near the road, it takes around 30 minutes. However, while electric cars are stuck taking forever to charge, gas cars only take 2 minutes to fuel up. In fact, it’s easy to go to the local gas station and fuel up quickly, allowing you to continue your drive. But with EVs, charging stations are a rare find.

There was a survey taken and it concluded that 31% of the people (all ages) surveyed said they’d like to purchase and drive an electric vehicle. Clearly, there is a problem with electric cars. Why else would they not like it? Well, auto pilot and other EV features are unreliable and could be dangerous. The technology and abilities in EVs are a big issue and are unsafe. The display screen went black a lot and there were issues with the lights. There were electric failures, electrical shock risks, and fire risks. Also, batteries can explode when you crash or over-charge with high temperatures around the vehicle. With all this commotion, you should also know that EV batteries are combustible and can very easily catch fire, making EV extremely hazardous.
