At her last Wimbledon Championships, Serena Williams tore her right hamstring and was unable to play. However, according to The New York Times, she is returning for the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. Serena Williams said herself, “It was always something since the match ended, that was always on my mind.”

Serena Williams was in tears when she could not play on in the 2021 Wimbledon Championships. Many fans were speculating that she would stop playing tennis, according to The New York Times. Serena Williams was also doing many other things, like raising a child and running Serena Ventures, a venture capital firm. She wasn’t going to retire, though. She just didn’t have any plans, but when she got the opportunity to join the 2022 Wimbledon Championships, she took it. Although her tennis ranking has shot down the past year, she hopes to climb her way back up again.
