Last year, during a Wimbledon match, Serena Williams tore her right hamstring in the first set against Aliaksandra Sasnovich. It was a very hard match for Williams to forfeit.

But William had no choice. “You never want any match to end like that,” Williams said. “It’s really unfortunate, but it was definitely something that’s always been at the top of my mind.” Unfortunately, due to her torn hamstring, it took a year to recover. Withdrawing from three straight Grand Slam tournaments made William reconsider her career in tennis.

Soon after, Williams recovered and returned to the All England Club at 40, having not played a single match since Wimbledon. Despite the reconsideration of her career, William said that she had no plans of retiring. She said, “ I just didn’t know how to come back.” Referring to her age. It will be more difficult to recover since she is old. And even if she recovers, after not exercising or doing something for a long period of time, you won’t feel the same.

Even though William was old, she still managed to fully recover. She found the spirit to continue after a difficult injury and recovery period.

Tearing her right hamstring was difficult, but Serena Williams still competed. She is an amazing tennis player, and even though I believe she will suffer more injuries, William will still be able to stand back up and fight.
