Washington American Football Team, The Commanders loses one of its players and this player left a hole that not many players could cover. It was sad for fans, teammates and coaches, the person in question is none other than Ryan Kerrigan. Ryan Kerrigan was a linebacker, and a legendary one too with 147 quarterback hits, 95.5 sacks, 26 forced fumbles and three interceptions returned for touchdowns making him one of the best linebackers at the sport. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles for a season, then he played for the Washington Commanders for the rest of the 10-seasons he played. He smashed through offensive guards, but his career fell short when his knee was shot. In May 2021 the reports on the injury weren’t looking great so he was advised to stop playing.

It was sad that he had to go, but luckily, he’s only off the fields. He wants to stay in football in any way possible, and according to his teammates, he’s got the capability to cheer up the mood. According to Chase Young, a 23-year-old defensive end, he says “So it was definitely an honor just to play with him. Good to see him. Good to see all the little RKs with him. … RK never really talked too much, but every time he joked, it was funny. I used to want him to talk more. Just how we used to laugh in practice, and he would give me certain things, certain tips on the field.” And the coach of the team himself Ron Rivera said “He’s a guy that you could always count on, he’s a guy that always could help set the example. I mean, you only get so many of those guys, and when you get them, they most certainly need to be celebrated.” So clearly he has a lot to share to help other players. From the breakdowns to even the very things that the players consume, Ryan Kerrigan has tips. And in many of his press conferences, he’s consistently saying it’s been hard to leave the team. So maybe he doesn’t have to.
