Dozens of Ukrainian emergency workers used Sunday to pull people out of the wrecked building after a Russian rocket attack smashed into apartment buildings, killing at least 15 people. More than 20 people were believed still trapped.
On Saturday Russia sent many missiles crashing into Ukraine’s buildings in a resident part of the town Chasiv Yar. “We ran to the basement, there were three hits, the first somewhere in the kitchen. The second, I do not even remember, there was a flash, we ran towards the second entrance and then straight into the basement. We sat there all night until this morning,” one survivor called Lyudmila said to the Reuters news agency.
The strike hit an apartment economized mostly by people who worked in factories around.
As a result of a toll, it is discovered that three buildings fell and it caused more than one million dollars in damage.
Rescuers worked to find people buried under the collapse and found a man along with three others in a similar situation as him. The man was found to be buried at least 24 hours and clearly needed a quick ride to the hospital. They recently found six more people buried in the rubble. Earlier, before the attack twenty-one people were killed earlier that month after an apartment was hit by missiles, and at least 19 people died when a Russian missile crashed into a public shopping mall in the city of Kremenchuke.
“We are trying to contain the Russians’ armed formations along the entire frontline,” said Serhiy Haidai, the governor of the eastern Luhansk region. “So far, there has been no operational pause announced by the enemy. He is still attacking and shelling our lands with the same intensity as before.”
“Anyone who orders such strikes, everyone who carries them out in ordinary cities, in residential areas, kills absolutely consciously,” said Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In response to Ukraine people for last Sunday “After such hits, they won’t be able to say that they didn’t know or didn’t understand something.”
The rocket launcher the Russians used was in service at the time of the Soviet Union. The rockets that were fired were called Russian Uragan Rockets fired from a truck borne system.
Russia sent missiles into apartments and killed at least 15 people leaving many still buried. Many are trying to find the lost and to help them and save them.
