Researchers discovered that letting kids play board games with numbers can help improve their math skills. They figured out that when the kids play board games like Monopoly and Dominoes, they get to use some of their counting and math skills.

Experts conducted an experiment with kids (ages 3-9 ) that were put in a group to play games that require some math skills. A group of other kids played games that needed no math skills. After 6 weeks (with each week consisting of two 20 minute board game sessions), the kids in the group that played games with math skills improved on their math.

Next time when you’re bored on the weekend, just ask your family to play board games with you and you can improve your math skills while you’re at it.
