Red Roses Rugby World Cup

England has officially announced its team to represent the country during the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025. The tournament will be held in England this year, making it a crucial time for the team. This year, Scrum Half Natasha ‘Mo’ Hunt will be included in the team after being excluded from the group in 2022. There will be faces that fans will recognize, like Sarah Bern, a TikTok sensation and prop, Tatyana Herd, a powerhouse centre, and Emily Scarratt, who is the first English rugby player to participate in five World Cups, but 8 of the members will also be making their World Cup debuts.
Zoe Aldcroft took over for Marlie Packer as captain earlier this year and won at the Six Nations, a rugby competition against teams of England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales. Aldcroft will be the Red Roses’ captain this year.
During the most recent World Cup, England nearly won, but was defeated by New Zealand in November 2022. Since then, they have won all 25 matches since their defeat. The last time England won the World Cup was in 2014, but they have another chance this year.
The Rugby World Cup 2025 will start on August 22nd in Sunderland’s Stadium of Light. The games will start with England against the U.S. The tournament will continue in different places in England, ending on September 27th in London, Twickenham.
