It has become a trend for famous University athletes in Oregon to earn money by using their
fame to book rental properties.
Six Oregon track and field athletes – Micah Williams, Ty Hampton, Elliott Cook, Jasmine
Montgomery, Jadyn Mays and Jaida Ross partnered with Division Street, a sports venture
company, to gain money through a rental property.
The rental property, called “Oregon House” was decorated with track and field-themed
memorabilia in May before N.C.A.A. track and field championships and the U.S. championships,
both held at Hayward Field stadium in Eugene, Oregon.
There are the jerseys of Galen Rupp and English Gardner in the living room, while pictures of
Ashton Eaton, Raevyn Rogers and other Oregon track and field greats line the walls and the
hallway.
These student-athletes were paid to advertise the rental house through social media and split
the profits. “We don’t even have to do anything,” Williams, a rising junior sprinter, said.
Williams is one of the best sprinters in the history of Oregon’s track and field. He is a former
champion in the N.C.A.A 60 Meters and a member of last summer’s U.S. Olympic team.
