Shooting at C.D.C. in Atlanta.
On Friday, August 8th, 2025, a 30-year-old gunman starts a shooting at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia, for speculating that a Covid-19 vaccine made him sick.
The shooting at C.D.C. killed one police officer from DeKalb County and left many other officials working in the hospital feeling uneasy. Besides the illness, many more reasons for the recent shooting have been mentioned in past reports. The open fire at the center left patients, workers, and people in the area with a sense of fear.
The attack began around 5:00 pm on Friday, when the police received a call from a CVS down the street about the active shooting. The open fire consisted of over 500 rounds being shot, with more than 200 of the bullets hitting the C.D.C. and six of the other nearby buildings on the campus. Later, the gunman was found dead, and he was then claimed to have committed suicide by self-inflicting a gunshot. At the scene, five firearms were found, including a rifle that is suspected to be the source of most of the gunshots. Chris Hosey, the director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, states, “They (the guns) were secure and he forced his way into the safe that contained the weapons,” speaking about the action the gunman had performed and the information his father had given.
While the exact reason for the shooting remains unknown, professionals are continuing to study the case and the scene. Many outside voices, including citizens around the place of the shooting, have also stated their opinions.
