Air India Crash

On June 12th, 2025, an Air India flight heading for London crashed shortly after takeoff. Researchers suggest this is because of a manufacturing fault.
This aircraft is a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. These types of twin-aisle jets are popular for long routes. This plane was carrying 242 people. Out of these 242 people, only one survived the crash.
The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed at 1:38 p.m. local time, which was less than a minute after takeoff. This plane reached the maximum altitude of 625 feet; however, the airport altitude is 200 feet.
When investigating why the plane crashed, the investigators will try to find the cockpit and the flight data recorder, which provides useful information about the flight. The investigators scrutinize every little detail. CNBC reported: “Crash investigators will look at everything from the airline’s maintenance records to … the pilots’ training and recent rest, and weather conditions on the hot day, when temperatures were about 100 degrees Fahrenheit.” The investigators will also examine the footage of the plane.
It is not clear, but the researchers think it might have been a manufacturing problem that caused the crash. This plane had been flying for a decade. However, Jeff Guzzetti, a retired air safety investigator with the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration, disagrees. Here’s what he has to say, “I don’t think this is a manufacturing or production issue.” He also said, “It appears the airplane got off the runway with no problem but for some reason was unable to climb.
So far, the cause of the Air India crash is unknown, but researchers have a few ideas based on the evidence available to them currently and will continue to investigate further as new evidence comes to light. In the immediate aftermath, researchers disagree with each other about why the plane crashed. Once the cockpit and flight data recorders are recovered, researchers will use them to help them determine the real reason for the crash.
