Plane From India to London Crashes after take-off on Thursday, June 12th, 2025
In Ahmedabad, India, an Air India passenger plane, boarded to arrive at London Gatwick airport in the UK, crashed shortly after take-off. The UK prime minister said that the plane crash was simply devastating. He was updated frequently about the crash, and his thoughts were with the passengers and their families at this worrisome time of the year.
241 lives were lost with only 1 survivor, who had multiple injuries all over his body. The plane crashed into a building, killing 5 medical students as it burst into flames. Most of the bodies have been charred beyond recognition.
Queen Camillia of the UK and the 14 other Commonwealth Realms were desperately saddened by the terrible incident that had happened. King Charles said that he would like to pay a particular tribute to the emergency services that came in and all those providing help for the plane crash. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India said that it was “heartbreaking beyond words.”
Even if this crash happened unexpectedly, planes are still one of the safest ways to travel. Every day, tens of thousands of planes take off and land in the world safely. Plane crashes are so rare that if a plane does crash, then it will become big news very quickly. It is estimated that the probability of a plane crash is 1 out of 11 million. Governments and Airlines use the information to improve the airplanes.
If you feel worried or upset, it is completely normal and you could talk about it with your parents, friends or teachers.
