President Donald Trump and Elon Musk “Break Up”

President Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s friendship fell apart right after Musk’s role as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) ended because of Elon Musk’s distaste for to Trump’s new budget and spending bill.

After becoming president for the second time, Trump appointed Elon Musk to Doge. From that point on, they were often seen together. Once Musk’s job ended, Trump gifted Musk a golden key to the White House to signify their friendship. The golden key is a key that the president gives to their most trusted people.

Less than a week later, Musk and Trump took to the online world to start a public argument.

But why did Elon Musk fall out with Trump? Last week, Musk stepped down from Doge to concentrate on his other companies, like Tesla and SpaceX. The fallout came when Musk criticized Trump’s spending plans for the U.S. government for the next few years. According to BBC, Musk said that “it will increase US government debt by ‘trillions’ of dollars and ‘bankrupt’ America.” Musk also said that the spending bill was a “disgusting abomination” (BBC).

Trump has responded with “Elon and I had a great relationship, I don’t know if we will anymore.” He also has threatened to withdraw government funds and cancel business deals with Tesla and SpaceX. Trump also said that Musk was upset because Tesla is likely to suffer from Trump’s plan to remove of removing electric vehicle tax credits.

There were some reports that the two were supposed to call on Friday, but Trump wasn’t interested in speaking to Musk yet. This argument has become big news, and what will happen to the relationship of the two.
