Why has Elon Musk turned against Donald Trump? First, let’s go back a little bit.

Donald Trump wanted to become president again, and Elon Musk saw that. They respected each other’s goals. Trump wanted to be president, and Musk wanted to be important, so they decided to help each other out. Elon Musk voted for Trump and gave money to him in hope of a new, amazing president.

When the election ended, Donald and Elon felt elated since they had won. Trump gave Musk the position as the head of “Doge,” which is short for the Department of Government Efficiency. They were viewed as friends.

Some time after, Donald Trump changed how much the government spends per year. Musk was not happy with this change. He decided to leave his job at Doge, and Trump wasn’t that angry at first, so he was given a key to the White House. Their friendship was breaking.

About a week later, Musk said that America would be bankrupt and that our debt would increase to trillions of dollars because of Trump’s spending decision. Musk also said he quit his job at Doge because he couldn’t deal with this consequence anymore.

Trump is now angry, and he threatens extra tariffs on Elon Musks’ companies. Musk is worried about Tesla, since it was thriving and now it will not. After Musk’s social media outbursts, Trump hit back, telling reporters: “Elon and I had a great relationship, I don’t know if we will anymore,” the BBC reported. Trump is even considering selling his own Tesla! We are not sure if they will be friends ever again.
