Hemophilia is a rare condition and that is passed through genes. A gene is a section of genetic material which is passed down from your biological parents.

Hemophilia is when you have trouble with blood clotting. It makes your blood liquid very thick and gel-like. This is because normally when you bleed, substances in your blood-clotting factors-mix with special blood cells called platelets to make your blood sticky and form a clot.

This is what makes the bleeding stop eventually. However, people with Hemophilia don’t have as many clots as normal people do which makes them bleed more.

This means that it would be hard to stop bleeding which can be fatal.

a new treatment corrects the problem with the genes which leaves people who have the disorder struggling to stop bleeding if they are injured.

The medical team said that, in three years, all adults with Hemophilia will be cured.

The research was carried out by the University College London (UCL), the Royal Free Hospital in London, and biotechnology company Freeline Therapeutics. They found that just one injection of the gene therapy, called FLT180a, meant that nine out of 10 patients no longer needed their clotting factor injections.
