All about a new school year

This year, I got Ms. Marquez as a 5th-grade teacher at River Island Academies. I wanted another

teacher because I heard she teaches well. But the teacher I have now is better than I expected

because when she teaches, she explains really well and answers all my questions. She is also really

funny when we start to doze off.

Going back to school is fun because you can get a new teacher, new classmates, and many more benefits. Some of the benefits are that you get more P.E time, so you can exercise your body and get fit. But there is more cool stuff you get to do in 5th grade. I’m excited about the trip in December because you get to go to Camp Sea Lab, located near Santa Cruz in Aptos. The reason I’m excited to go is that you get to go kayaking, squid dissecting, and many more activities. Also, I’m excited to go because I’ve never been there before and I want to experience it.

But in school, we learn more science and social studies than math and ELA. P.E is also really hard because in 5th grade, you are forced to run 1 mile in under 10 minutes, or else you will get a zero for the day. But what’s easier is that we don’t need to take tests every week. We take that every two weeks. My opinion about school is positive because you get to go to Camp Sea Lab, see your friends, and learn new stuff.
