Oklahoma City Thunder defeats Indiana Pacers to tie the finals score
The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Indiana Pacers 123-107 in game 2 of the NBA finals to make the finals score 1-1. After losing at the last moment of Game 1, Oklahoma City Thunder was leading from the start all the way, with the help of teamwork.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, MVP right now, scored 34 points, had eight assists, and made five rebounds, continuing winning this season. Unlike in Game 1, where he played offense solo, Gilgeous-Alexander got help from his teammates. Jalen Williams scored better this game and got 19 points compared to 17 points, and Chet Holmgren scored 15 points and six rebounds. Some people on the bench also scored, Alex Caruso scoring 20 points and Aaron Wiggins scoring 18. They were balanced so they beat the Indiana Pacers, who couldn’t beat the offense of Oklahoma City Thunder.
For defense, oklahoma city Thunder tightened up after allowing late-game breakdowns in the series opener. They got 15 turnovers and Indiana Pacers Tyrese Haliburton got just five points through the first three quarters. Although Haliburton scored 12 in the four, the Indiana Pacers already lost at this point. Indiana’s other player, Pascal Siakam, didn’t score very well and got 15 points because he didn’t shoot accurately. The Pacers’ other players, including Myles Turner and Aaron Nesmith, made the score more balanced, but without their other teammates like Haliburton and Iakam making more shots, they wouldn‘t have gotten a comeback.
The series will now go to Indianapolis for game 3, where the Pacers could win by homecourt advantage. Oklahoma City has to win again to get an advantage. If they can keep their good defense and also have a good offense, they will have a big chance of winning the finals. After rebuilding the team, the Thunder just needed 3 wins to get their first championship ever the thunder team moved to Oklahoma City in 2008, so this will be their first win.
