Many strange sightings are being seen every day, but one found in Australia almost looked like an alien invasion. Last Wednesday, a strange pinkish glow shined in the skies of the small Australian town of Mildura. Residents of the area were confused and scared and many made up their own reasons. Some thought it was an alien invasion, some thought it was a solar flare, and some even believed that it was some type of northern light.

After some investigation, it turned out to be lights emitted from a medical marijuana factory. The plant was testing out LED lights which were reflected onto the clouds in the sky.

The group behind this is called Cann Group, which is a secret medical marijuana growing company. The company was given 1.4 million dollars by the government to grow medical marijuana.

A security guard for the factory noticed people were following the lights to their factory, meaning their facility had been exposed. The light was to promote growth for the cannabis plants, but they mostly use blackout curtains to prevent the light from spilling out. But that day, they did not cover the windows.

Using cannabis plants has grown in popularity as Australia legalized marijuana for medical uses in 2016. Uses for marijuana medically can include relieving stress, anxiety, and insomnia, if used in controlled amounts. More than 70,000 Australians have used marijuana which has made a total of more than 160 million dollars.

The Covid-19 lockdown has added more stress to people. Because of quarantine, people have had mental health issues and doctors have prescribed doses of cannabis to them.

Mildura has been known for its amazing grapes which supply wineries, but the town now has just built their first marijuana factory and is looking forward for more. People have said that this can provide jobs for the region, and can also boost the economy in many other ways.
