Over the weekend of July 2nd, 2022, the movie “Minions: The Rise of Gru” earned almost $108.5 million in ticket sales. The film is on track became the biggest opening ever for a July Fourth weekend, shattering the record that was previously held by “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”.
Minions first came out in 2015 as a movie directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda. The movie achieved financial success of $1.159 billion. Now, Minions 2 has inherited that fame and is attracting people of all ages, even really young ones. According to PostTrak reports, 12% were under the age of 10.
Minions were extremely popular because of their lack of self control, although they have an odd innocence that is very loveable. Minions are also famous because of their gibberish language. These little creatures not only are major attraction for children, but also make adults overjoyed. Let’s face it, who won’t like these adorable, pill-like creatures?

Even the now-famous “Minions: Rise of Gru” Was delayed because of Covid.
According to Comscore, the weekend will go down as one of the biggest of the pandemic era. The momentum is expected to continue with the release of Marvel’s “Thor: Love and Thunder” next week.
